I have been a Foundation Governor since July 2015, and was very pleased to take on this role since I am a great supporter of the work of the school and the high standards both schools achieve, in giving young children the greatest start in life. I have two children who have attended Denton School and have watched them both flourish and grow in confidence and ability. The opportunity to support this experience and the work of the Federation, is a responsibility I feel very privileged to undertake.
I have held a career in Marketing and PR for the past 25 years, working for the BBC before specialising in food consultancy for the range of businesses I now work for, in the Midlands. As a trained journalist, I also enjoy writing feature articles for food magazines and newspapers and also provide advice and help around Social Media Marketing for small businesses and organisations. I am a member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations, and during my career, have always felt it important to mentor young professionals who are just entering the profession.
Outside of work, I have a very keen interest in children’s welfare and safety, and have worked voluntarily as a telephone counsellor for ChildLine. A role I found to be enormously valuable and one which I would like to return to in the future. During my role as a Foundation Governor, I am pleased to take special responsibility for the Safeguarding Children policies and look forward to becoming more involved in every aspect of the role.
