Mrs Cherry Edwards OBE
My name is Cherry Edwards. I retired in December 2015 having been a Headteacher for over thirty years. This included five headships covering rural and inner-city settings, with the last twelve years serving as an Executive Headteacher in Lincolnshire and National Leader of Education from 2008. I was awarded the OBE for services to education in 2014.
I am very pleased to be able to continue to make a contribution to education having been appointed as a Co-opted Governor at the Federation of Denton and Harlaxton C of E Primary Schools. I welcome the opportunity of serving God by working as part of a group of committed individuals to support the Executive Headteacher and her team in providing the highest quality education for all our pupils and supporting our families. I did previously sit on the Governing Body of Harlaxton C of E Primary School during the time it became federated with Denton C of E Primary School and then later as a Foundation Governor.
Now retired I am enjoying spending more time with my husband and family. I am also a member of the Lincolnshire Diocesan Board of Education and have current active participation in my local church.
