Thank you to our House Captains for organising a wonderful day to raise money for Alzheimers Research UK.
Sadly our time supporting Joel through the Christian partnership has come to an end. Joel has now completed his time at school and we feel very proud to have supported him. This year our new school council for 2024/2025 have chosen a new child to sponsor through World Vision. We look forward to working with Fortune and supporting her on her journey through school.
An update on Fortune November 2024
We have received our first correspondence from Fortune and her mother. We now know that Fortune attends pre-school and her favourite subject is colouring. She lives in Malawi, with her parents who are agriculture labourers. When she has free time, she really loves playing with dolls.
Festival of the community October 2024
The key stage 2 children were invited to create some art work celebrating the past, present and future of our local community. Their art work was projected on to Linpet House during the evening festival. Here is a small sample of the art work produced, it looked wonderful and we enjoyed supporting the local event.
Rotary Stars July 2024
We were delighted to receive an invitation from the Grantham Rotary club this year to award some of our children with a Rotary Stars certificate and badge. One pupil from each year group was selected by their class teacher for the special award. The awards were given for showing our school values, work within the community or going above and beyond this year to achieve their best. Well done Rotary Stars!
The children enjoyed taking part in the first ever scarecrow competition in the village. Ideas were discussed with staff and school council and they decided to create scarecrows to mark the Paris 2024 Olympics. A fabulous effort from the whole Denton community.
School Council fundraiser- Summer 2024
The whole school enjoyed our summer fundraiser for our sponsored child Joel. The school council had a 'kids take over' afternoon where the children organised some fantastic events. Each child selected the activity they wanted to take part in and shared the experience with their families at the end of the day. A fabulous £82 was raised for Joel. Well done Denton!
Eco Council Litter picking in the village.
Recently the children of Denton Primary school have raised concern about the amount of litter being dropped in the village. The Eco-council have contacted the Parish Council to work alongside them to tackle this problem. Today the Eco council gave up some of their time to litter pick around the village and played their part in keeping Denton tidy.
The event was incredibly popular and the children were amazing swimming over 221 lengths! Well done Denton Dippers and Divers!
